Social Studies Rocks: Our Political Blog

I thought I'd take advantage of my status as supreme empress editor at VFN and put in a shameless plug for my Social Studies Class Blog.

My kiddos are evaluating election advertisements, speeches, propaganda, etc. They are very new to blogging, and they just made their first posts TODAY!

It would totally rock their world if they got some comments from far away places (pretty much everything is far away from Shishmaref...). So, do me a favor and stop by. Rack up their view count, ask them thought-provoking questions, watch the movies they embed. Feel free to also mention how outrageously outstanding their teacher is. :)

Angie! I found you from Leah's blog! I remember someone saying you moved way up there and I felt sorry for you. My brother served in Alaska and after hearing his stories I feel REALLY sorry for you! ;)
I'm in South Dakota now. Not really on my list of places I'd like to live, but it works. I'll have to catch up by reading past posts. Come visit us at our blog too! michelle guy (aka yockey)

You super teacher you... I have a classroom blog too.
mrsblacksfirstgaraders.blogspot.com My first class went really well. I really like my professor. She can't be more than 30ish and she is from back east. I have my other class tomorrow night where I meet the head proffessor for the program, so we will see how that goes. I am still a nervous because I haven't been accepted to the program yet, but I guess they are taking anyone so I should be okay!

I think I have an obsession with the sweater vests. :) Eli has 3 or 4 and we live in an oven. But the AC on full blast in our church makes it feel pretty chilly. Kaelub keeps telling me after he finishes PA school we are going to move to Alaska where they will pay off his student loans. In the past I have said o.k. (As long as you can get there by car---not sled.) But I just don't know after seeing all of your posts & pics! You're so brave!

Also, I was wondering, do your kids call you Angie? It looks like they don't really mess around with this "Mrs. Alston" crap.

That last comment was supposed to be on the field trip to your classroom. Sorry. This works, too, I guess.
